Barry Wolfson

Barry Wolfson has spent the majority of his career in management - either as a manager or as a consultant to managers. Before returning to his consulting practice, in 2012, he was CEO of Tervis Tumbler, a manufacturer of decorative insulated drink ware and a former consulting client. During his tenure sales increased by $45M and earnings by 35%. The company expanded its brand recognition from regional to national in scope, doubled manufacturing capacity and increased employment to over 700 employees.

Prior to Tervis, Barry spent 17 years as a consultant. Before starting his own consulting company he was Vice President of the Center for Simplified Strategic Planning – a boutique consultancy specializing in strategic planning services. In his 10 years with CSSP he developed a client base that spanned numerous industries and groups including traditional manufacturing, the retail and service sectors, associations and non-profits. He was successful in working with over 100 organizations, from global companies with multiple business units to smaller local organizations.

Prior to joining CSSP Barry was CEO of a manufacturer of specialty chemical products. During his 15-year tenure, the company grew from a small, regional operation, doing approximately $4 Million per year in sales, to a $100+ Million per year international business. During those years of rapid growth, Barry developed his approach to strategic planning. His excellent results included product and market extensions, expansion into international markets, and acquisitions.

Barry is currently President of Barry Wolfson, LLC. He continues to work worldwide with Senior Executives & Boards of Directors in the areas of Strategic Planning, Organizational Design, Performance Improvement and Board & Leadership Development. His hands on experience in running large companies combined with his extensive consulting background gives him the unique ability to challenge and inspire his clients to look at their opportunities from non-traditional perspectives and to make the tough choices required for long-term success. Barry graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. He has served on the Boards of Directors of independent companies, national trade associations and non profits.
